Conan O’Brien’s transition to the West Coast from New York will be serenaded this evening by the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, which is scheduled to perform with the John Mayer Trio on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien.

Fifteen members from the Pasadena-based chorus will perform “California Dreamin’,” which was made famous by the Mamas & the Papas. The John Mayer Trio also includes Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino. This evening’s broadcast will also include appearances by Gywneth Paltrow and Joel McHale.

This will be the second time the LACC has appeared on NBC’s top-rated late-night show. The first was a Christmas special with Jay Leno that aired in December 1995.

LACC comprises more than 290 choristers from 60 communities across Los Angeles in five choirs. The group has toured internationally and is the subject of the 2002 Academy Award-nominated documentary film “SING!,” which has aired on PBS.

In 2007, the ambitious chorus commissioned and performed the children’s opera ‘Keepers of the Night’ by Peter Ash. The group has also performed in the past with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the L.A. Opera, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the L.A. Master Chorale.
