They're drawn to Obama

Barack Obama

There's something about Barack Obama that inspires artists. The president-elect most famously has shown up on Shepard Fairey's iconic street poster, which is on its way to the National Portrait Gallery. But he's also been represented by global artists, cupcake makers, sand castle builders and a person handy with an Etch-A-Sketch. Click here for those and many more, in a photo gallery compiled by Deborah Netburn.

I'd love to see what David Pagel would write if this Etch-A-Sketch were installed at one of his beloved contemporary art galleries (one of many were he appears to be on a permanent retainer). He'd probably call it the most important piece of art of the 21st Century and they'd sell it for $50,000. Come to think of it, it IS better than Monique Prieto's new Flintstones wallpaper.
