Here’s an update on Wednesday’s report about the transmission problems at classical music station KUSC.
Station spokeswoman Brenda Barnes writes Culture Monster:
KUSC is back on the air at reduced power. Our transmission line has been patched to provide a temporary solution but it needs to be replaced. We have ordered the transmission line we need and will replace it in a few weeks. Until then, we will continue to operate at reduced power. Fortunately, most listeners should receive the signal without problems even though we are operating at lower power than usual. We were not able to give estimates about when we would return to our main transmitter site because we didn’t know until the tower crew could get up there and figure out how extensive the damage was.
