--Opera singer and Broadway star Dorothy Sarnoff, who launched a second career as an image consultant, dies at 94.

-- Chicago-based David Cromer will direct the Broadway revivals of Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs" and "Broadway Bound," replacing Daniel Sullivan.

-- Former National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman William R. Ferris calls for the Obama administration to create a Cabinet-level position for a secretary of Culture.
