Jane Seymour drops out of 'A Christmas Carol' at the Kodak Theatre

Don't believe everything you see.

Especially if you happen upon this flier for "A Christmas Carol," opening Tuesday at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. But there doesn't seem to be anything fishy going on here.

Jane Seymour, perhaps remembered best as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, had to bow out of the Charles Dickens holiday favorite "after contracting a severe bronchial infection."

"She felt that she wouldn't be able to perform to the best of her abilities and be able to give the audiences 100% while suffering this illness," according to a statement from the show's publicist. "The producers and Jane agreed that it would be in the best interest of all parties for her not to continue with the production."

We're told her role will be played by understudy Jane Noseworthy.

And there won't be a "special appearance" from Gene Wilder, either.  The statement said the actor "was to have appeared as a special effect using a hologram; the producers decided that it would not be effective in the production." A supporting actor will play Marley's Ghost.

Still appearing will be John Goodman, Christopher Lloyd and Jane Leeves. "A Christmas Carol" plays through Jan. 4.

Jane Noseworthy wasn't listed as understudy in the program. From what I heard she was brought in last minute to take over the role.
