L.A. theaters to offer free-admission nights

Theatreaudience_2 Let it never be said that Culture Monster doesn't work hard to help you find affordable entertainment -- in this case, free nights at the theater.

That's right: Theaters around the city are teaming up this month to offer free admission for select performances as part of Free Night of Theater 2008, a nationwide program sponsored by Theatre Communications Group, a New York not-for-profit organization.

So far, 16 L.A.-area theater companies will participate in this year's event, including such notable venues as the Colony Theatre in Burbank, the Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood, L.A. Contemporary Dance, La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and the Blank Theatre Company in Hollywood.

Reservations must be made in advance, and the limit is usually two tickets per reservation.  Click below to see specific shows and times...
