Starring in “The Soloist” trailer: Salonen, Disney Hall, Times building

DreamWorks has just released the trailer for ‘The Soloist,’ starring Robert Downey Jr. as our very own Steve Lopez and Jamie Foxx as Nathaniel Ayers, a Skid Row inhabitant who turns out to be a gifted cellist. The trailer features scenes shot in the Times building as well as Walt Disney Concert Hall. And don’t miss a fleeting shot of Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting the L.A. Philharmonic -- it’s just the back of his head, but we’d recognize his youthful bounce anywhere. Check out Lopez’s columns on Ayers, which ran in the Times in 2005.
