Lou Dobbs announces his resignation from CNN -- is Fox his next stop?
Longtime CNN anchor Lou Dobbs announced on his program this evening that he is leaving the network.
His resignation is effective immediately, overriding a contract set to expire at the end of 2011. Tonight’s show was his last on CNN.
The anchor updated his Twitter account, loudobbsnews, with “Be sure to watch CNN tonight at seven eastern for what will be, for me at least, a memorable show.”
Dobbs is perhaps best known for his anti-immigration views, which Twitter users repeatedly referred to as word of Dobbs’ resignation spread:
sarahhirsch says: And Fox said to CNN "red rover red rover let Lou Dobbs come over" Good riddance.
daveweigel says: Lou Dobbs leaving CNN to spend more time with his racism
mkapor says: Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Zohreen says: One more thing to add to things thankful for at fam thankgiving din in 2 weeks
nutzareus says: Only option is FOX News for Lou Dobbs. Seems appropriate. :-)
Last month, Dobbs met with Roger Ailes, chairman of the Fox News Channel. According to a New York Times blog post, Dobbs was viewed as a potential hire for the Fox Business Network at that time.
Tell us your thoughts -- did Lou Dobbs break his contract with CNN to start a job with Fox? In your opinion, would that be the right move for him? If not Fox, where might he be going next?

Good move CNN. You finally figured out Lou was running the same show every night.

No more reason to watch CNN now. They are All Bias, All BS.

WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS COMING
as with anyone else who speaks straightforwardly about ethnic issues, Mr Dobb's views on ILLEGAL immigration have been twisted to fit the left wing agenda against Free Speech. WE MUST CONTROL OUR BORDERS to weed out: A) terrorists and B) drug cartels infiltrating our cities. AND... fyi Left Wing Loons, I am of hispanic and native american heritage. so stuff it.

Well there is a God! I'll bet you a dime he heads off to Fox, where his ilk belong.
Back when Dobbs did MoneyLine, I loved his program. Once he got on the immigration kick, his meanness and hatred only paralleled that of Limbaugh, Hannidy, etc.
There's too much vile in the world as it is. Why do we need to have it regurgitated to us by the likes of Dobbs.
In some way, this is a shame. Dobbs is a talented man, but our taste for outright hatred and discrimination is limited. Congratulations CNN.

Lou Dobbs is not a liar, FOX news is not a good place for him to go to. All he did was exposing the current idiots that are running our country and the past idots that destroyed it. Remember Bush and Chenney!!!

I find it sad to see people cheering for the censorship of Lou Dobbs's point of view due to partisan activist groups. You cheer today but, will you be cheering when someone that shares your views is silenced?

Lou who?

Fox is where he belongs, with his racist views

This hurts Fox news.
Dobbs really helped drive CNN viewers to Fox at the 7PM eastern slot.
OTH, I would not be suprised if he pulls a Glenn Beck...

Good riddance.
His show was a sham, and had been for years.

Its too bad. Lou was the only thing worth watching on CNN.

Immigration kick? Give me a break, what part of illegal do you not understand?

Lou Dobbs has been circling the drain for years. The man orginally was a whore for big business, when that got old, he became a shill for big business under the guise of being for the "average American" - now he is going back to being what he has always been, a whore for big business.

I think Lou Dobbs will balance out Fox News and continue to be the real voice of America.
Those who come into this country without the proper paper work or can not even bother to learn to read or write english have no right to live here or earn a living.
I know a lot of Mexicans who work hard and who are here legally and have learned to speak and write in english.
Unless more people speak up against the Great One and his plan to take our freedoms away we will all miss our CNN, NBC, and FOx News and the right to speak against the President with out fears.
God Bless America and those who died for our Freedoms.

I stopped watching CNN months ago just to avoid Dobbs. His pompous, arrogant and extreme opinions are not news. I particularly found it distasteful to see his on-screen colleagues humiliate themselves when somewhat forced to agree with what ever his last statement was. If he has to be on television at all, let it be FOX where he will find good company in the box of wing nuts already there. Since my fingers will be cut off if I ever tune in FOX I will be very unlikely to see the man again. CNN has so many top-quality journalists. Why did it take so long to lose this misfit?

He was not PC enough for CNN. Anyone who says something negative about illegal immigration is branded a racist.

We stopped watching him three years ago, what took everyone so long. Sad and
hateful man, His in-laws are hispanic, what is his problem?

HUMMMM , audience, or no audience, which will it be ? O yes, Fox has an audience, MMM, MMM, MMM. Thats ok!!!!!!!!!! CNN will get themselves some BAMA money, MMM, MMM, MMM,

CNN loses the only talented unbiased American left on the program.
CNN will bring in a boring biased Liberal to take his place. The "CNN PANEL OF EXPERTS" is the most nauseating group on cable news. Ever consider that a very few care about their openly biased, poorly masked, liberal opinions.
FOX should welcome Lou with open arms.

Remove the wealth from ALL the wealthy liberals and give it to the illegals!! Enforce immigration or become another Mexico!! Welcome to LA
Like an old country song, " Broke Disgusted and Blue!! Mmm, Mmm, Mmm

Guess Lou knew when to get off a sinking ship.

Lou Dobbs is going to run for office!!! Which one is the question???
Posted by: Dick | November 11, 2009 at 06:24 PM
The only thing Lou Dobbs every did was tell the truth. Apparently people can't handle it. The country is being over run by illegal aliens and we he comments about it he is labeled a racist.
Posted by: Harry | November 11, 2009 at 06:24 PM
Lou spoke the truth, and he is much better versed than hannity
