Fran Pavley to seek reelection in new state Senate district

State Sen. Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) has announced she’ll seek reelection from the newly drawn 27th District.

Part of that new district also is represented by Sen. Tony Strickland (R-Moorpark), but he is considering running for Congress if Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) decides to retire. Assemblyman Cameron Smyth (R-Santa Clarita) is another possible candidate for the state Senate seat.
