Gov. Jerry Brown continued to fill out his administration Wednesday, naming Karen Ross, a former president of the state’s wine-grape growers association, to head the state Department of Food and Agriculture.

Ross, 59, most recently served as a top advisor to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. She will be paid $172,524 in her new post.
