The band Ozomatli and comedian/actor Jamie Foxx will entertain the crowd attending a Friday rally with President Obama at USC aimed at energizing Democratic voters for the mid-term election, according to a source with the Democratic National Committee.

The popular hometown band, which combines Latin music with hip-hop and rock, and the Oscar-winning actor will join Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown and Sen. Barbara Boxer, as well as other elected officials, community leaders and volunteers. The rally had to be moved to a larger space because of the expected attendance.

Aiming to counter a perceived lack of enthusiasm among Democratic voters, the rally with be the fifth “Moving America Forward” event Obama has headlined in recent days. He kicked off a multi-day Western states trip Wednesday. Obama is the latest in a string of top political celebrities visiting California.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, briefing reporters on Air Force One on Wednesday, said Obama would remind voters what’s at stake Nov. 2.

“The president … will take another opportunity to remind voters of the importance of the election, what’s at stake, whether we continue moving forward or whether we go back to the policies that got us into this mess,” Gibbs said, according to a transcript of the remarks. “I think we’ll see good enthusiasm on this trip. And there’s no doubt that we’re getting to a point in the campaign where it’s important that the campaigns that have identified their voters make sure we get them out to -- get them out on election day.”
