In a California campaign season that has been dominated by discussions of housekeepers and recorded messages, it’s not always easy to find out where candidates stand on the issues. In fact, a survey by Project Vote Smart found that only 34% of congressional candidates responded to surveys on their stands on key issues -- the lowest response rate ever recorded for the state since Project Vote Smart began testing California candidates in 1992.

So the group has taken it upon itself to provide a new website to help identify where candidates stand on the issues a particular voter cares most about. VoteEasy matches a voter’s stand on a variety of issues -- from abortion to Afghanistan -- with the candidates that will be on his or her ballot this fall.
