First Take: Dead heat for Brown and Whitman. Budget talks resume in Los Angeles.

A new Field Poll shows the California governor's race tied, with Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman each earning the support of 41% of respondents.

Whitman was in Los Angeles on Wednesday, raising money with some help from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Carly Fiorina is on the air with a new ad that takes aim at Barbara Boxer's insistence she be called "Senator" instead of "ma'am."

George Skelton looks at the impact of the longest budget impasse in state history. Budget negotiations will continue in Los Angeles on Thursday, one day after legislative leaders met with an ailing Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
