On the gubernatorial campaign trail this week, Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown are both focusing on jobs and raising a little money of their own.

Brown has made the green-energy sector the centerpiece of his job-creation agenda. He will be discussing both Monday morning at PermaCity Solar in Los Angeles. On Thursday, he will be in the tony Bay Area hamlet of Atherton, where former state Controller Steve Westly (who worked with Whitman at EBay) will be among those hosting a fundraiser for the Democratic nominee.

Republican nominee Whitman, meanwhile, will be in Sacramento at a computer consulting firm, Encompass. The event is the beginning of a busy week for Whitman, who will be chaperoning a series of guests at fundraisers around the state. Those guests include New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
