Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been mum about who he is supporting for governor. But his office announced this week that the father of Democratic nominee Jerry Brown is being inducted into the California Hall of Fame.

Brown’s father, former Gov. Pat Brown, is among those in this year’s Hall of Fame class. The Hall of Fame was started on Schwarzenegger’s watch and has featured some friends of the governor. This year’s class is no different.

Along with Brown, director James Cameron, who directed Schwarzenegger in ‘The Terminator,’ has been tapped for the honor.

Others on the list include country musician Merle Haggard, former Secretary of State and Schwarzenegger friend George Shultz, historian Kevin Starr, Barbra Streisand, artist Wayne Thiebaud, actress Betty White and Wimbledon champion Serena Williams. Inductees are chosen by the California Arts Council, the California Museum and the governor’s and first lady’s offices.

Candidates are submitted to the governor for final approval.
