Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman has agreed to participate in an October debate at Dominican University and challenged her Democratic rival to join her.

“You know what I say to Jerry Brown? Bring it on,” Whitman said, speaking to supporters Thursday at a rally at the San Jose Tech Museum. “I accept that debate invitation because I can’t wait to talk specifics with Jerry Brown.”

But Whitman again refused to commit to participating in the 10 town halls that Brown has proposed holding throughout the state.

“He wants to do 10 debates. I suggest he get 10 ideas on how to fix California out there,” she said.
