Determined not to allow Meg Whitman to have the airwaves to herself this summer, a coalition of labor groups, the Democratic Governors Assn. and other Jerry Brown supporters are launching a new television spot.

The ad has been shipped to TV stations and will begin airing no later than Monday, said Roger Salazar, a spokesman for California Working Families 2010, the coalition paying for the ad.

Although Whitman is on the air with a new spot talking about her campaign platform, a notable departure from many of the negative ads that marked her primary with Steve Poizner, this new ad goes on the attack.

The ad focuses on Whitman’s poor voting record and includes clips from a news conference in which she answered questions about her spotty voting history. You can watch the ad below.
