Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown has filed suit against two CalPERS officials in connection with an alleged scheme to use gifts to persuade board members to get business for investment firms.

In case you missed it, the Republican gubernatorial candidates held dueling conference calls spinning the state of the race between Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner, which continues to tighten.
