Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s public schedules may be lacking in detail, but now you can get more information that you probably ever wanted about the whereabouts and doings of the California governor, thanks to the social networking site Foursquare.

The site encourages members to ‘check in’ when they visit restaurants, bars or other sites. Members are given ‘badges’ for checking in frequently. True denizens are bestowed with honorific titles like ‘mayor.’

Schwarzenegger, a well-known Twitter user, apparently just started using Foursquare about two weeks ago, according to his postings.

Among the things you missed if you weren’t following the governor’s Foursquare updates? Mostly food tips from Sacramento restaurants, as best we can tell.

‘For a light lunch, you can never go wrong with the salmon salad’ at Spataro’s, the governor writes. He recommends the oatmeal at the Fox & Goose. And when you’re in the Capitol, ‘make sure to get a picture with the giant bronze grizzly bear in front of my office.’

Doesn’t your life feel richer now?
