Mike Gatto, Bill Emmerson advance in legislative races

Assemblyman Bill Emmerson (R-Redlands) outpolled former Republican Assemblyman Russ Bogh in the race to fill a Riverside County vacancy in the California Senate.
In Los Angeles County, attorney Mike Gatto was the top vote getter among three Democrats seeking to replace Paul Krekorian in the 43rd Assembly District, which includes Glendale, most of Burbank and the neighborhoods of Silver Lake, North Hollywood and Valley Village.
Both races will be decided in a June 8 runoff, as no candidate in either race won a majority of the vote Tuesday.
