Whitman offers open bar to GOP convention-goers

Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman has found the way to the hearts of GOP convention-goers -- through their livers.

Whitman is hosting a reception tonight with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. But, more important, perhaps are the five words at the bottom of her invitation -- ‘No RSVP required. Hosted bar.’

As for Steve Poizner, he will host a ‘Party with Poizner’ on Saturday afternoon with ‘refreshments and college basketball coverage.’

Others hosting hospitality suites tonight include the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assn., U.S. Senate candidates Tom Campbell, Chuck DeVore and Carly Fiorina and the Asian American Republican Council.
