Steve Poizner’s campaign for governor has prepared a third television advertisement – and it is the third one that focuses entirely or in part on the issue of immigration. The ad includes clips of Meg Whitman, who is leading in the polls, commenting on the issue last year and one showing similar statements from Democratic President Barack Obama. ‘Did you know that Meg Whitman and Barack Obama have the same policy on illegal immigration?’ the ad asks.

Referring to illegal immigrants already in the country, Whitman is shown saying, ‘Can we get a fair program where people stand at the back of the line, they pay a fine?’ This is, Poizner says, an endorsement of amnesty for illegal immigrants, which Whitman has been saying she ‘100%’ opposes.
