UCLA Times: Confident Kahlil Bell trying to instill the same into teammates
UCLA senior tailback Kahlil Bell certainly does not have a problem with confidence.
"I was told a long time ago that if you don't believe in yourself, who is going to do it for you?" said Bell, who has rushed for 1,380 yards, averaging 5.3 yards a carry in his UCLA career. "I truly believe that when I put on the pads that I can play with anybody and, until otherwise proven, that's how I'm always going to think about myself."
For the Bruins, Bell's self-assured nature is probably a good thing because they will be counting on him to be an offensive force against Tennessee in the season opener for both teams Monday at the Rose Bowl.

Also in today's L.A, Times: Sam Farmer looks at where UCLA and USC rookies stand in the NFL, with an extra focus on former Bruin Matthew Slater.

I really don't know what to expect on Monday. I hope our O-line can block well for Kahlil Bell and pass protect our QB Craft. That's a big question mark and we will need plenty of 1st downs to give our defense some rest . Also , we need to minimize penalties and play with discipline on both sides of the ball. Penalties will kill us for sure. GO Bruins !! - Regardless , I still feel better about having Neuhiesel at the helm , than Dorrell. -- Rick will turn things around - Wait and see !!

I can't wait unti tomorrow's game. I'm not sure what to expect, though. I'm confidence that Walker has once again produced a remarkable defensive squad, but who knows what's going to happen on defense. Let's hope for the best.
GO BRUINS!
