'The football monopoly in Los Angeles is officially over'

Football_monopoly_ucla_5 If you picked up The Times on Monday, you couldn't have missed this ad.

It ran in the sports section and took up a quarter of a page.

If you've got an over-sized printer at work, you might want to make a poster to hang at your desk.

Or put it somewhere on your USC co-worker's desk where he won't see it for awhile.

Not that we know anybody who would do that.

Corrupt program? On what are we basing this? Allegations about Reggie Bush's stepfather receiving improper benefits?

The facts that "are" indisputable at this time are that Rick Neuheisal has been fired from his last two college head coaching jobs for ethics reasons. Do we really believe he has changed his spots?

I have to admit I was surprised when Norm Chow agreed to come and work for Rick. He should know his history as well as anyone. He was either promised something pretty nice, or he just wanted revenge on Pete Carroll for something -- either way it's not working out too well so far.

As far as the other poster who said something about academics--I think you are living in the far past. You need to check some current independent ranking sources. In the past fifteen years USC has effectively closed the gap in almost all disciplines and leads UCLA in many.

Additionally, in 2000, USC was rated the top University in the country by Princeton Review. In the current list of incoming freshmen's "dream schools" USC placed #9, one ahead of UCLA. But at least you guys get that lower tuition and all that...that's pretty cool.

Hey bruins103, you still laughing? 0-59, just in case you were to disgusted to watch the WHOLE game! But luch next year!

Go Trojans!

Tallking Chimp

So our gutty little bruins want to destroy this Monopoly? After BYU, I think we should start with Chutes and Ladders first.

SportsFam

Ruins, give up the Rose Bowl to a real team!

Go Trojans.......

Go SImers

Go Simers! He nailed the essence of Neuheisel right off the bat. Slick Rick came off as a smarmy creep in post-game interviews after the Ruins got lucky over Tennessee. We'll see how long he lasts. Norm Chow? What has he won lately? Hope he get his comeuppance from SC soon.

THE FOOTBALL
MONOPOLY
IN LOS ANGELES
IS OFFICIALLY
OVER THERE

Boss Jim

What's this I'm hearing that the UCLA Bruins has a game next Sunday with the Oakland Raiders well I'll take the Bruins by 2 points

Robert

So where can I get the t-shirt that has the SC response to that, by adding the word "there" at the end, like Neuheisel is pointing across town to SC? I've tried looking on eBay, and doing a searchin Yahoo, but no joy. If anyone knows where I can get one of these t-shirts, let me know! (socal1200r@yahoo.com)

Fight On!
