Mbah a Moute still undecided
UCLA forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is in Chicago for a workout Thursday with the Bulls, according to his brother Armel Minyem.
Minyem, who played basketball at Rider College in New Jersey and now works in marketing for a sports club in Washington, D.C., said Mbah a Moute is also scheduled for a workout Monday with the Charlotte Bobcats.
He said the Boston Celtics also have expressed interest in the 6-foot-8 forward, who has started on three Final Four teams. Mbah a Moute must decide by June 16 whether he wants to keep his name in the draft or withdraw his name and play his senior season at UCLA.
Minyem said the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks have indicated that they would like to see Mbah a Moute. "Right now," he said, "the Celtics are trying to schedule something in Los Angeles next week when they play the Lakers."
Toronto and Portland, Ore., also are possibilities. "I'm trying to get as many done as possible before June 16," Minyem said. "After that, we'll see." Minyem said his brother is truly undecided about whether to return to UCLA. "Even if I wanted to, I couldn't tell anybody," he said. "Because I don't think Luc knows."

Can you say only freshmeat starting line-up looks like a 10-14 loss season

Only freshman starting lineup?
If you want to spend all day bashing the Bruins, at least get your facts straight. Collison is coming back and Howland has already more or less stated that he'll be starting in the backcourt with Jrue Holliday, rival.com's #1 freshman prospect in the nation. Josh Shipp has stopped working out for NBA teams now too, thus indicating that he'll likely come back. So if Luc is gone, it looks like Drew Gordon/Alfred Aboya will start at the PF spot, and J'mison Morgan will start at the center spot.
Well, if you need me to teach you anything else just let me know.

Sorry. #2 ranked. Could've sworn I read an article that said he was the top ranked player. Oh well. #2 freshman player in the country is still pretty damn good.

LRMAM hasn't signed with an agent yet. i wonder how he pays for all of his travels to workout for all of these teams, and the orlando pre-draft camp. credit cards? it's gotta be difficult going to all of these workouts for teams not knowing if you'll be in the nba or gollege next year. i feel for these young men making these big life decisions.
he is a great bruin, 3 final fours, a good student too. will be interesting to see where he goes next year.

THIS IS OFF TOPIC - football question:
on bruinzone i just read that we have a 6'6" 275 OL walking on this coming year. any more info on him? his last name is downey.

chenalex -- I think you're right, at least one national writer did have him as the #1.
shekib -- I usually delete entire comments with profanity, but wanted to take an opportunity to respond to this so I just cut the offending language. Sock puppetry is a major no-no in my profession (and in super market management) and I don't do it. PK has been posting on latimes.com blogs for quite some time. We track IP addresses, so if it were really a big deal we could prove it's not me. I probably haven't been in "the-mesa" for three years.
JosephineBruin - The NBA has a new policy this year: “You may tryout with an NBA team during the academic year if you are enrolled full-time as long as you do not miss class. You may receive actual and necessary expenses from the NBA team in conjunction with one 48-hour tryout per team. The 48-hour tryout period begins when you arrive at the tryout location. At the completion of the 48-hour period you must depart the location of the tryout immediately in order to receive transportation expenses.”
Also, Brett Downey should be a great addition. Here's a story I'll also link to in Friday's Hot Links:

Shekib,
I don't know how long you have been a bruin fan but didn't Ucla have an Ex-player who so into using that when he needed money would call pizza delivery and rob the dude at knife point until he got busted.

PK...you are in Mesa? Puhahahahahahah ASU? or maybe you go to Mesa Community college. Your attempts at humor are farcical. I want to take you seriously but you are probably a byproduct of ASU. You know a college is suspect when the most student’s college GPA is higher than his/her high school GPA.

Ted I live in Costa mesa you, if you didn't know already thats O.C. and I was raised in downey. Dude i ahve been reading about ucla, usc for years and i know alot of players and coach's so i know what really goes on in the so cal area
Posted by: pk-in-the-mesa | June 07, 2008 at 11:16 PM
So with all your expertise, why are you just posting comments on a UCLA blog? As you claim, if you knew "what REALLY goes on in so cal," why arent you writing your own blog or for the latimes?
Please dont tell me your just another trOJan trying to agitate the Bruins into your fatuous little game...

I just got nothing better to do Ted, so thanks for answering my toughts and ideas.
