I see you fixed the link (for 24 hours it lead to an SC poll), but deleted my comment calling you out on it. I'd have been fine with that, as I used the opportunity to insult you in such a fashion that I was laughing out loud while typing, but I think you should have done what your employer does when it makes a mistake: admitted error. Instead you went back to trying to pretend that you're not actually an SC blogger doing the UCLA blog as an afterthought...

VA - I've got no problem admitting that. In writing multiple blogs about college sports, sometimes one post will be based off of another -- basically creating a school-specific spin. It's like magazines that have regional covers. Anyway, some start on the UCLA blog, others on the USC blog. I happened to write this particular post about USC first. I tend to use UCLA more when writing about basketball, and USC more when writing about football.

Your comment was removed because of the language. As you know from reading other posts, I don't remove anything simply because it insults me. It has to be profane, repetitive, harassing, or attacking race/religion/etc.

And contrary to your claim, it wasn't anywhere near 24 hours.

okay, 15 hours? 20? You certainly didn't catch it until late last night, though the link was posted yesterday morning. And it's one thing to make a mistake, but I am just calling you out on it because you'd think that with all the criticism you get on being an SC guy running a UCLA-fan blog, this would be the type of thing you'd double-check. I mean, c'mon man, it's downright INSULTING to follow a link to a fan page, and go to the RIVAL's fan page instead. Seriously. That's a pretty bad error, dude. Defend your mistake as you will, but even you see why this goes beyond the typical wrong-link mistake. Rivalry is all about who your team ISN'T.

And yes, I used a word that begins with a D and ends with a -bag. Repeatedly. Ending with a South Park reference to that same -bag term. I could see why using that term 5 times in 3 sentences could be offensive. I apologize for the personal nature of that attack; by way of explanation I only add that I was laughing the same way I do when I call out a friend for being a "D-----bag." And I'd like to add that prior to this aggregious link error, I had been (I believe) the only person on here who had defended your depth and objectivity in comments. Seriously. Maybe you don't recall repeated posts under my name to that effect though.

Anyhow, I understand you deleting that comment for reasons of profanity. Totally fine. But how does that explain why you deleted my other comment--without the slightest profanity, I might add--on the "Blog War" post?

Mistakes (typos, link errors) happen, and I'm certainly not the only one. I've got no problem being open about it when they occur. There's not much to read into. Perhaps you're taking this one a little too seriously. It was up for a few hours, maybe 7 ... nowhere near 24 as you originally claimed. Most importantly, it was corrected within 1 minute of it being brought to my attention.

I don't mind the personal attacks on me -- no need to apologize. You're welcome to try, but it really doesn't bother me.

Deletions are simply a matter of language. The post on the "Blog War" looked repetitive. You've posted again, I'll leave it up and re-address it there.
