UCLA basketball roster movement

Gone:

  • Lorenzo Mata-Real (C) senior
    • Eligibility has been exhausted.

Put name in NBA draft, has not hired an agent:

  • Kevin Love (C) — freshman
  • Russell Westbrook (G) — sophomore
    • Said he may return if he falls below 20 in the draft.
  • Josh Shipp (F/G)  — junior
    • Came in with Jordan Farmar, Lorenzo Mata-Real and Arron Afflalo in Ben Howland's first recruiting class (redshirted because of injury).
  • Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (F) — junior

Undecided at this time:

  • Alfred Aboya (F/C)  — junior
    • On track to graduate this summer and may leave for graduate school.
    • Would start at center if/when Love is gone.

Staying put:

  • Darren Collison (G)  — junior
    • Would start at point guard if/when Westbrook is gone; otherwise split time.
  • Obviously there are others (Keefe, Roll, Stanback), but Collison was the only one who might have left.

Incoming:

  • Jrue Holiday (G)
    • Expected to start at shooting guard
  • Malcolm Lee (G)
  • Drew Gordon (F)
  • Jerime Anderson (G)

Bruins Nation has a good "worst-case scenario" depth chart at the end of this post.

Kevin Love will be awful in the NBA, this blog sums it up the best.

How about we wait until at least a couple of NBA games before we pass judgment on K.Love.. if he's so obviously not going to do well, the NBA wouldn't be so quick to offer him millions of dollars as a potential lottery pick. But hey, what do they know? Let's listen to what the internet blogger folks say instead.
