Party planner: Bruins in the Final Four

Basketball games doesn’t usually have the surrounding events that football games do, but for the Final Four, there’s quite a bit going on:

Wednesday: Final Four Send-Off

The men’s basketball team will be saluted on campus as they prepare to leave for San Antonio on Wednesday from 3-3:15 p.m.

Fans are asked to line up on either side of Bruin Walk between the John Wooden Center and the J.D. Morgan Center as the team leaves for San Antonio in its quest to capture UCLA’s 12th NCAA basketball championship.

Friday in San Antonio: CBS Early Show

The CBS Early Show is asking alumni and fans of UCLA who are in San Antonio to be at the HoopCity site next to the Alamodome between 6-8 a.m. Friday for five live shots and informal fence-line interviews with the weather anchor (normally Dave Price). All four schools have been asked to participate, so here’s your chance to show support for the Bruins and maybe get on CBS.

Saturday in San Antonio: Bruin Bash

The official UCLA party in San Antonio is the Bruin Bash, which will be held Saturday and Monday regardless of whether the Bruins defeat Memphis on Saturday evening.

The location is the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center at 200 E. Market St. in San Antonio and there will be the usual excitement of alumni, band, spirit squad and lots to eat.

The times are from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, about an hour and a half before tip-off of both sessions.

Pricing is per event and is $95 for adults, $50 for children and $75 for students for pre-sales, which conclude noon Wednesday for both parties. At-the-door sales will be based on availability and will cost $100 for adults, $50 for children and $75 for students.

More information is available from the UCLA Fan Travel Office at (310) 206-2873.
