Basketball kaleidoscope: Holiday, Lee solid in McDonald’s loss
Future Bruins Jrue Holiday and Malcolm Lee showed flashes of the talent that made them high school stars during the West’s 107-102 loss Wednesday night in the McDonald’s All-American Game in Milwaukee.
Holiday scored 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting, was 0-2 from three-point range and made both of his free throws. He also had five rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes. ESPN analyst Doug Gottlieb called him "the best basketball player from the state of California since Baron Davis."
Lee scored three points on 1-for-3 shooting from the field and 1 of 2 from the foul line. He also had two rebounds and a steal in 14 minutes.
Both showed exceptional ability with the ball, and Holiday was one of the smoothest performers on the floor, also making some excellent defensive plays that caused turnovers. Lee showed the long arms and intensity that will make him a star defender with the Bruins.
>> The Pac-10 All-Academic team was announced Wednesday, and Bruin reserve forward Alfred Aboya was named to the second team. He had a 3.06 grade point average, majoring in political science. Forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute received honorable mention recognition.

Holiday is amazing. He is silky smooth and has incredible hands. I was amazed at how he could just take the ball away from another guard when he was dribbling.
lee looks like he could be another Westbrook with those long arms.
Can't wait for next years class!!
