National Signing Day I

The fax machines in the UCLA athletic department have been busy this morning with National Letters of Intent coming across from one of the best football recruiting classes in some time.

A group of future Bruins met at The Serving Spoon restaurant in Inglewood, owned by the family of Venice receiver Jerry Johnson, to sign early this morning. Reports on the recruiting sites (an especially good list was compiled by Tracy Pierson of BruinReportOnline) indicate that letters have been sent to UCLA from:

Offense:

  • Jeff Baca, OG from Mission, Viejo
  • Nick Crissman, QB from Huntington Beach
  • Aundre Dean, RB from Katy, Texas
  • Johnathan Franklin, RB from Los Angeles
  • Cory Harkey, TE from Chino Hills
  • Jerry Johnson, WR from Venice

Defense:

  • Donovan Carter, LB from Lake Balboa
  • Anthony Dye, CB from Corona
  • Damien Holmes, DE from Colton
  • Aaron Hester, CB from Compton
  • Datone Jones, DE from Los Angeles
  • Patrick Larimore, LB from Newhall
  • Rahim Moore, S from Los Angeles
  • Sean Westgate, S from Oak Park
  • E.J. Woods, S from Culver City

Special teams:

  • Jeff Locke, P from Glendale, Arizona (Parade All-American)

UCLA will release its official list of signees later in the day.
