UCLA-Washington State fourth quarter: another bitter pill in the Palouse

With the defense on the field almost continuously in the second half, Washington State’s 20-7 lead with half of the fourth quarter to play just about puts the game out of reach. The Bruins seem to have no offense whatsoever. If the score holds, Bruin Coach Karl Dorrell will be 1-4 against the Cougars.

>> UCLA came into the game giving up 79.6 yards a game. Dwight Tardy had 211 yards and his 51-yard touchdown run was the final insult . . . not to the Bruin defense, which was on the field for a sick 98 plays, but to the Bruin offense, which didn’t show up for its last 64 plays.

>> Yards in the quarter: Washington State 192, UCLA 67, with the final tally: WSU 546, UCLA 265.

Final score: Washington State 27, UCLA 7

Bye Bye Karl!!!!

I've had it. If Karl Dorrell is still coach next weekend of the UCLA Bruins, then this athletic program has lost all perspective.

He needs to be fired NOW!

FIRE KARL DORRELL!

HIRE DEWAYNE WALKER!

GO BRUINS!

so tell me Rich, what's the excuse this time? Injuries? We didn't anticipate anybody getting hurt? On what planet? One where football isn't played, right? Another outstanding Defensive effort wasted, because the Coaching staff wasn't ready for contingencies. And this Coach has been here as a player, as an assistant, and twice before as HC. Can he say he had no idea what to expect? Perhaps, if he was (a) high, or (b) a complete dolt. Or perhaps it is my own personal SAT-flashback favorite (c) Both (A) and (B). In any event, we can- can we not - finally stow all of the insipid talk about "challenging" for the Pac-10 title, and going to the Rose Bowl? Pathetic. shamelessly, inexcusably pathetic job of preparing this team.

So, this is now our 8th game of the season. Most times, teams tend to progress , learn the offense, learn the defensive packages better with each week. Players should be getting better and better with each week, right? WELL YEAH, WITH A COMPETENT COACHING STAFF, THATS USUALLY HOW IT WORKS!!

This is RE-diculous. Dorrell needs to be replaced now. How can we be out-coached and out-played by a mediocre Utah team, a terrible Notre Dame team and a weak Wazzu team. Even our wins were sketchy. We squeaked by BYU, got a lot of lucky turnovers to help us beat the beavs, somehow out scored a bad washington team and then had a lot of breaks go our way to beat cal. We are not winning because of Dorrell, we are winning IN SPITE of Dorrell.

Is it November 2nd yet?!?!
