Bruin women volleyballers sweep Louisville in Hawaii
Fifth-ranked UCLA started its three-match trip in Hawaii for the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Rainbow Classic with a three-set sweep of the Louisville Cardinals, 30-24, 30-27 and 30-21.
UCLA’s big hitters were Ali Daley (14 kills) and Kaitlin Sather, with 12. All-American setter Nellie Spicer was busy again with 40 assists.
The competition gets a little stiffer on Sunday as the Bruins (2-1) will face no. 25 Kansas State and then host Hawaii on Monday.
After road trips to Nebraska and Hawaii, the Bruins will return to California for a month and a half with competition in tournaments in Irvine and San Diego and start conference play against Arizona at Pauley Pavilion on September 20.
