Four Bruins-to-be on Scout.com’s "Hot 100"
Scout.com’s listing of the top 100 high school basketball recruits in the country featured all four of UCLA’s incoming freshman for 2008:
> 6-3 Guard Jrue Holiday of Campbell Hall (North Hollywood) was ranked no. 3 nationally;
> 6-4 point guard Malcolm Lee of J.W. North of Riverside was listed at no. 22;
> 6-1 point guard Jerime Anderson of Anaheim Canyon was ranked no. 28 and
> 6-9 power forward Drew Gordon of San Jose Archbishop Mitty showed up at no. 31.
Four of the top 31 is pretty good! Those listed by Scout.com in the national top 25 were designated as "five-star" recruits with the next 75 all deemed "four-star." UCLA is listed as a "school of interest" on several other top prospects:
> 6-9 center J’mison Morgan of South Oak Cliff (Texas) High School at no. 29;
> 6-11 center Ralph Sampson of S.R. Butler High of Huntsville, Alabama, at no. 70 and
> 6-11 center John Brandenburg of DeSmet Jesuit of St. Louis, at no. 82.
Detect a pattern here? With four of the top 31 and perhaps one of these three centers coming as a fifth, UCLA is likely to be designated as having the top recruiting class in the nation. Thanks to Erkki Corpuz for the use of the "Fantastic Four" artwork below!

Ssaaawwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Any doubt that we have a great coach and the future looks beautiful??!!

I was under the impression John Brandenburg was down to Stanford and Virginia and ucla was eliminated.

I'll believe in Dorrell when I see him do some solid recruiting for 2 or 3 years consecutively. Not that his in game decisions will ever impress me (Marty Schottenheimer school of coaching obviously) unless he channels Bob Toledo somehow and starts coaching with passion rather than caution.
