Gold Line east project is moving along
Metro, aka the MTA, announced today that all the tracks have been laid for the six-mile extension of the Gold Line from Union Station to East Los Angeles. The line should be open by next summer, and testing of trains should begin within the next few months.
The photo above captures the view looking south at the new tracks over the 101 Freeway. The overhead wires haven't been installed on this section of track yet, but the wires are up along 1st Street. The full press release from Metro is after the jump.
