Briefing on Metrolink crash in U.S. Senate committee begins at noon

U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer is holding a briefing today on the Metrolink crash in the Senate's Commerce Committee. Boxer's press office just announced it will be available for viewing on Boxer's website.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at noon Pacific. Scheduled participants are NTSB board member Kitty Higgins, Metrolink Board of Directors Chairman Ron Roberts, Federal Railroad Administration chief Joseph H. Boardman and Union Pacific Executive Vice President of Operations Dennis Duffy.

I'll be monitoring. One topic of discussion will likely be whether Metrolink should have installed technology that could have prevented the collision with the U.P. freight train.
