California High-Speed Rail map
I posted earlier about a lawsuit involving the proposed route of the California High-Speed Rail project. I had a couple of technical difficulties posting the map of the route. Those glitches have now been resolved. So here it is.
The big dispute is in Northern California. The route, as proposed, would use Pacheco Pass -- just south of Henry Coe State Park -- to reach San Jose. Opponents of that route want the train to use Altamont Pass to get into the Bay Area from the San Joaquin Valley. The 580 Freeway goes over Altamont Pass and is used by Southlanders traveling north to the Bay Area. (Click the map for a larger view.)
