Is this the bus of the future?

Bus1

The Big Blue Bus and the Arts Center College of Design are trying to design a "bus of the future" -- in other words, what a bus may look like 50 years from now. The team working on the projects says that buses haven't evolved much over the past half-century, although I disagree somewhat: buses back then didn't have the highly annoying televisions that have been outfitted on MTA buses.

The renderings show that the team is looking at several items -- how to make buses more efficient and comfortable, namely. I actually think the latest fleet of MTA buses are pretty sleek. The big question is how do you make anything really comfortable when it's jammed with a lot of people.

More on this project soon.

Pete in the UK

Interesting design concept. I thought it would be interesting to compare with latest UK bus design with Metro's Liners on the Orange Line.
