Council approves bus service to Dodger Stadium
The Los Angeles City Council decided unanimously today to spend $70,000 to offer DASH bus service to Dodger games beginning July 25 and going through the end of the season. The council meeting was pretty much a replay of Wednesday's transportation committee meeting -- with the Dodgers saying they wouldn't pay and Councilman Bill Rosendahl complaining that they should.
Buses will run between Union Station and Dodger Stadium beginning 90 minutes before the game and continuing until an hour after. The buses will be routed along Cesar Chavez and Sunset boulevards, with a couple of stops along the way.
I -- surprise, surprise -- have a couple thoughts about the route that I'll be posting about soon because it's always fun to offer a counter-idea. Needless to say, mine involves the concept of happy hour and beer.

Actually, it wasn't a replay of T-Committee. Rosendahl didn't say anything and didn't oppose it (it went on consent). Just a little fact-check.

Same comment that I've made on this idea before:
In Denver they have special buses that go to the Rockies games from all over, just like we do for events at the Hollywood Bowl. Having Dodger Stadium served by a single bus line will not prove terribly useful.
