Swine flu: Who needs vaccines, give me a shofar

August 21, 2009 |  2:40 pm

Flying_rabbis1(1) Vaccines and hand-washing are apparently not enough. A group of rabbis and Jewish mystics have been flying over Israel in an Arkia Airlines plane blowing ceremonial shofars in an effort to ward off the pandemic H1N1 virus, commonly known as the swine flu.

"The purpose of the flight was to stop the epidemic," Rabbi Yitzhak Batzri told local media. "We are certain that because of our prayers, the epidemic is already behind us."
