Ha! You want active commutes? Try the airport

The Burbank airport is great. It’s conveniently located, has plenty of parking, has some nearby eateries and it’s not LAX. But don’t let the perception of convenience go to your head.

Walking from Lot A to the terminal -- next door -- may seem like a good idea. Walking from the terminal to the Starbucks -- next door -- may seem like a good idea. Neither one really is.

(Thank you, Kind Parking-Lot-A Shuttle Driver, for making room in the lane we were forced to share after I naively and intrepidly set out to walk from my car. And thank you, Kind Everyone Else, for making room later as I naively and intrepidly set out to walk from the short-term parking garage to the next-door Starbucks.)

Both, however, yield exceptionally lively, adrenalin-fueled experiences.
