EGYPT: Obama takes ‘wait and see’ approach

President Obama appears to be taking a cautious approach to the unrest in Egypt, where President Hosni Mubarak may be preparing to step down.

‘We’re going to have to wait and see what’s going on,’ Obama said during a surprise stop at Donckers, a small diner in Marquette, Mich., before he was to speak at Northern Michigan University.

Obama monitored the rapidly unfolding events in Egypt while en route to Michigan on Air Force One, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters earlier.
