EGYPT: British government still analyzing speeches

British Foreign Secretary William Hague, who is in Bahrain, said the British government was ‘studying very closely’ comments by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Vice President Omar Suleiman earlier today concerning the formation of the new government.

‘t is not immediately clear what powers are being handed over and what the full implications are,’ Hague said in a statement e-mailed to Bloomberg News. ‘We think the solution to this has to be owned by the Egyptian people themselves.’
