EGYPT: Eight prisoners die in escape attempt amid Cairo unrest

Eight prisoners died and 123 were wounded in clashes at a Cairo prison Saturday when security forces put down an attempted mass escape, Reuters news agency reported.

None of the prisoners escaped from the Abu Zaabal prison, northeast of Cairo, the news agency reported.
