Arab satellite network Al Jazeera, which continued broadcasting Sunday despite a government shutdown, is reporting that funerals for victims of recent violence have turned into protests in coastal Alexandria.

Al Jazeera also reports that several police stations in Alexandria have been torched and demonstrators there continue to defy the nationwide curfew.

Scores of protesters had crowded outside a morgue in El Salam City on the outskirts of Cairo Saturday after learning civilians had been brought there after being shot during Friday protests. Relatives told Al Jazeera that all 15 individuals were shot by Egyptian police during the protests.

Al Jazeera showed one young man standing in front of a body covered in a bloody white sheet. He had a message for President Hosni Mubarak.

‘We’re tired of you. We don’t want you. Enough. We hate you. All Egyptians hate you,’ he said.

An Al Jazeera correspondent counted 23 bodies at a morgue in Alexandria, 15 at a morgue in Suez. Egyptian officials told the network that all of the dead had been caught looting, but another hospital source told Reuters two children were among the dead.
