Opponents of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the BBC today that they would keep up their protests despite appeals from the nation’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to accept the results of last week’s election. Khamenei today ruled out massive fraud and told demonstrators to get out of the streets.

In an e-mail to BBC Persian TV, translated from Farsi, Saman in Tehran writes:

“Today, Friday, Mr Khamenei made his position extremely clear. He hasn’t left any room for anything else to be said. Tomorrow, Saturday, there will be a massive gathering in Enghelab Square [Revolution Square] in Tehran.”
