IRAN: Supreme leader tells protesters to get off the streets

June 19, 2009 |  8:32 am

Euronews has posted footage on YouTube from today's address by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, showing the huge crowd, which flowed out of the Tehran University venue and into the streets.

The Times' Ramin Mostaghim and Borzou Daragahi covered the speech, in which Khamenei ruled out massive fraud in elections last week and warned hundreds of thousands taking part in a series of peaceful protests against the reelection of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to get off the streets.
