IRAQ: Mother may I?

Saddam Hussein promised to defeat the United States in "the mother of all battles." It didn't happen in 1991 in Kuwait or in 2003 in Iraq, but a phrase was born for our time.

Now the United States occupies Hussein's former pride and joy, the massive air base at Al Asad. And the very large (U.S.-built) dining facility is known informally as MoChoHall — the mother of all chow halls.
