‘I heart @MTV. This one is definitely going to be a night to remember,’ Britney Spears tweeted the other day, referring to her appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28.

Britney has given us lots of memorable moments at past VMAs: kissing Madonna, squirming under an albino python, presenting a birthday cake to Michael Jackson that he misunderstood to be an artist of the millennium award. She’s given many amazing music performances and at least one disastrous one. (The BBC said her performance of ‘Gimme More’ in 2007 will ‘go down in the history books as being the worst to grace the MTV Awards.’) She even, finally in 2008, won some of the awards herself, including best female video, best pop video and video of the year for ‘Piece of Me.’

Now, what will she do next? There will be a special tribute to her on kudos night, and she’s nominated for best pop vocal and best choreography (‘Till the World Ends’). See the promo tease below.
