Cannes 2011: Un Certain Regard prizes go to Kim Ki-duk and Andreas Dresen films
"Arirang," the first feature in three years from the respected South Korean filmmaker, has been described as a self-portrait that Kim not only wrote and directed but also stars in. Shot almost entirely in one room, the film takes its title from a Korean folk song. German drama "Halt Auf Freier Strecke" ("Stopped on Track") tells the story of a brain cancer patient (Milan Peschel) struggling to come to terms with his terminal illness.
Serbian auteur Emir Kusturica headed the Un Certain Regard jury.
