Poll: Get real -- Can Lindsay Lohan ever win an Oscar?

When she appeared on the "Tonight Show" this week, Lindsay Lohan, age 24, was asked by Jay Leno where she sees herself at age 30.

"Hopefully, sitting here after I've won an Oscar," she replied. "That would be ideal."

Before Lohan became enmeshed in ridiculous tabloid scandals, she actually displayed real promise as an actress. She won Teen Choice and MTV Movie Awards for "Mean Girls" and a Kids' Choice Award for "Herbie Fully Loaded." She was among those nominated at the SAG Awards for best ensemble for "Bobby," which was nominated for best drama picture at the Golden Globes. There was even serious scuttlebutt that she might nab an Oscar nom for "Bobby."

However, LiLo eventually ended up getting such lousy film offers that she won three Razzies for "I Know Who Killed Me," a horror film so horrible that it set a new record for most Razzies in a year (eight).

Next up: She's been cast as the wife of John Gotti Jr. in "Gotti: Three Generations," but it's unclear if she'll be prohibited from appearing in the film due to jail time and her sentence to community service.

I agree with Robert McBride. There are thousand of talented young and unknown actresses out there who deserve a chance at what Lindsay had. Lindsay you screwed up your chances. Get out tof the way for someone who will appreciate their shot. If they screw up like you did then they too should move over. But as for LiLo......get lost and get a job as a hamburger flipper. That'w where your talent lies.

Plain and simple answer.....................NO NEVER!! Oscar winners are dedicated performers who get into their role and can make you laugh or cry. They are dedicated people. Lindsay is none of the above. She is a "B" rated actress who seems to like roles like that of a porno queen. She is an awful actress!! Sorry......sometimes the truth hurts.

Does anyone remember Lindsay's guest appearance on Ugly Betty a couple of years ago? Without a doubt one of the worst acting performances I ever saw. Simply dreadful. And she aspires to be an Oscar winner? She can dream but in order for that to ever happen she will need to do a 180 degree turn and truly take her acting seriously. Frankly, I have never see her do anything I thought was exceptional.

i wish she'd just disappear to be honest. maybe hollywood just isn't for her because clearly she can't handle it now. i can see her making a real comeback when she's in her thirties but unless she does porn or something her roles will eventually dry up.

Like if the Oscars recognized talent all these years. Some of the Oscar winners are worst actors than her. If she's really loved and if she becomes very popular in a future by the Academy voters, she'll win a sentimental Oscar, like the 90% of the winners did.

Lohan is talented, even if she is screwed up. Robert Downey Jr was able to rehabilitate himself, I think Lohan might be able to do the same.

Unfortunately, she's only got about 4-5 years to nab her Oscar and if she wants one she's gotta give a performance as dynamite as Mo'Nique, which is unlikely, but not completely impossible as she does have promise.

Oscars are given not only to talented actors but quality minded people that the general public admires. Such as someone we would like to invite into our homes and meet our families. Lindsay Lohan does not fit into that category. She is sadly a product of her parents years of bad judgments and upbringing. The parents still embarrass themselves and don't know it. She didn't even finish high school, is a alcoholic, drug abuser, disrespectful of authority and a narcissist. For an example she might have answered Jays question with a little more humility by saying In six years I just want to be a better person and grow from MY many many mistakes. That behavior comes from a responsible upbringing. There is no evidence that she will change her life for the better. However, there is evidence she will continue to make unwise and decisions and put herself into harms way. .

Lindsay has no professional training as an actress. I doubt she knows the different styles of acting, the different types of plays, etc. For instance her movie "Labor Pains" was supposed to be a farce but was acted as a comedy, so it misfired. Linday has personality on screen but she's insecure when she's called upon to do period pieces, for instance. She should take a college course in theatre "styles". She might stumble onto a role that fits her screen persona and pick up an Oscar nod that way. By the way, Meryl Streep is not that good an actress--all Meryl does is work the phoneme (q.v.). Anybody can do that. Good actors like Lawrence Olivier don't appear too often.

Gosh who cares about this woman-she is a has been or actually never was. There are thousands of actresses that are as good or better than she is and that want to be a fine example to our youth.
